Looks like Apple is gonna take the performance game to the next level which no other brand can reach for time being. After launching the fastest Apple A14 SoC based on the 5nm process now the company is set to break further records with upcoming iPhones.
As per the new reports, Apple and TSMC have now achieved the first 4nm and 3nm fabricated processors. Further, the report also confirms that the new iPhone 14 series will be powered by the latest 4nm processor whereas the M-series will come with a 3nm processor later next year.
The upcoming iPhone 13 series aka Apple A15 SoC will be based on an upgraded N5P node at TSMC. The new processor only gets 5% increased clock speeds along with 10% reduction in power consumption. Further, the new M1X SoC will also be based on the new N5P process and will be launching in Sept this year with the latest MacBooks.
TSMC has also completed the development of the new 4nm process but MediaTek will be the first brand to officially announce the 4nm flagship processor this year. The N3 aka 3nm processor is ready as already two big clients with Apple & Intel already given their orders.
The report also mentions that the first N3 aka 3nm processor aka M2 chip might first debut with the new iPad series with OLED panel later next year. Intel has also ordered a bigger quantity of N3 aka 3nm chips than Apple as it’s struggling to achieve the feat.
