Looks like we finally got the early leaks revealing the details of next year’s flagship chip under the Snapdragon 800 series. In the past, we saw Qualcomm is on the role and going to relaunching the previous year’s chips with new brandings like SD870 or SD860 SoC. After the success of SD888 SoC, the brand is now looking to expand with premium flagship chips for next year.
As per the tipster, Qualcomm has now begun manufacturing the premium flagship chipset SM8450 SoC. The source confirmed that SM8450 SoC will be built on the latest 4nm process which is the same as the upcoming Apple A15 series. Further, the new SM8450 will also get the integrated modem with Snapdragon X65 5G modem.
SM8450 SoC comes with a custom Kyro 780 CPU based on the latest ARM Cortex v9 tech. Along with the latest Kyro 780 CPU the chipset ships a new Adreno 730 GPU. It also gets the latest Qualcomm Spectra 680 ISP support and comes with Qualcomm Secure processing unit.
It also supports Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec along with FastConnect 6900 subsystem. The new SM8450 comes with the latest LPDDR5 RAM along with Adreno 650 VPU & Adreno 1195 Display Processing Unit. Lastly, it supports 1GHz mmWave Downlink & also 400 MHz Sub-6D 5G bands.
