After the launch of SD780G which made its debut with Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G for Global markets. Now the company is looking for a cheaper alternative to SD780G with the new SD778G. Yes, the popular tipster just leaked out the launch and specs of the new SD778G ahead of the official announcement.
As per the source, Qualcomm is all set to introduce another mid-range chipset which will be named SD778G that comes with 5G support. The source also confirmed that the new SD778G is nothing but an underclocked version of SD780G with low powerful Adreno 640 GPU.
Further, the SD778G also comes with standard connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, BT 5.2, and support for LPDDR5 RAM. Lastly, the tweet ends up revealing the launch date for the SD778G SoC which is scheduled for May 19 launch. So looks like the SD778G would make its debut with Honor 50 that is also set to launch on the same date.
With the ongoing Chip shortage, Qualcomm is taking challenges and going on launching new chipsets every month. We have to wait and watch will this chipset ever make its way to Indian markets or not.
