Looks like Samsung to follow OnePlus and Vivo camera brand partnership next. This year we saw OnePlus partnering with Hasselblad for its flagship OnePlus 9 camera. Later, Vivo with Carl Zeiss for the Vivo X60 series. Now Samsung is planning to partner with a popular camera brand for its future smartphones.
As per the new leak, Samsung is looking to partner with popular Japanese camera brand Olympus for making their camera sensors for future flagships. Olympus was one of the first brands to launch cameras in early 1919 and Samsung looking out for improving its camera performance.
With Olympus and Samsung partnership we can expect to produce high-quality photo and camera modules for future smartphones. There is a strong rumor about the Galaxy Z Fold3 could be the first smartphone to feature Olympus-made camera tech. Further, the tipster also confirmed that Olympus had approached Samsung recently to use its camera tech on its future smartphones and currently in talks.
If all goes well we can see Olympus producing camera module for the Galaxy S22 series next year. As of now, we have to wait for the official statement about the collaboration between Samsung and Olympus.
