Yes, finally we have some official confirmation after tons of rumors and leak about the cheaper OnePlus flagship aka OnePlus 9R. OnePlus CEO officially confirmed that OnePlus will indeed bring an affordable OnePlus 9 series phone which will be called as OnePlus 9R and not the OnePlus 9E.
As per the source, Pete Lau had an exclusive interview with News18 where he confirmed that the OnePlus 9R is real and will launch along with the OnePlus 9 & the OnePlus 9 Pro. This officially confirms that all precious leaks turn out to be real after all. Further, he also gave the below statement on the India launch.
“Along with the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, we are excited to launch the OnePlus 9R in India. We are focused on expanding our smartphones. Offering to cater to different user requirements with the OnePlus 9R by providing a robust flagship experience at a more accessible price point.”
Pete Lau also mentions some of the key specs of the new OnePlus 9R. According to the source, the OnePlus 9R will have flagship-like specs at an affordable price point. It will arrive with features like smooth scrolling, immersive gaming controls, and a superior viewing experience. The OnePlus 9R is powered by an unknown Qualcomm 5G processor and will have 5G support out of the box. He also mentioned that the OnePlus 9R will provide an awesome gaming experience at an affordable price tag. Sadly, he didn’t reveal anything about the display, camera nor the price which are still under wrap.
So we can expect the OnePlus 9R might replace the OnePlus Nord in India this year.
