Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor to its popular tablet aka Mi Pad 4 with the new Mi Pad 5 soon. Previously we saw raise in tablet shipment due to ongoing lockdown which made the tablet market back alive for a huge amount of media consumption. Now Xiaomi is also looking to expand its tablet lineup with the new Mi Pad 5.

Design:

As per the source, Xiaomi is back into the tablet segment after a long break of two years with the new Mi Pad 5. The alleged Mi Pad 5 will be launching later this year in China and comes with some interesting specs. The new Mi Pad 5 will feature Mi 11 like the design on the back with dual-cameras setup and LED flash. There is also huge Xiaomi branding on the back.

Specs:

On the front, the Mi Pad 5 still features a thick bezels-covered display without any hole or notch. Anyway, the new Mi Pad 5 will sport a QHD+ IPS LCD display with 144Hz refresh rate support and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The Mi Pad 5 will measure 8.13 mm thick and weighs over 510g. It is made out of aluminum back similar to iPads and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Mi Pad 5 will be powered by new SD870 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB storage options. Looks like Xiaomi is bundling storage similar to Apple’s iPad lineup which sounds fishy.

Further, the Mi Pad 5 will feature a 20MP main Sony IMX586 sensor coupled with a 13MP wide-angle macro lens with LED flash. It features 30X digital zoom and 5x optical zoom under the macro lens.

For connectivity, the Mi Pad 5 ships with 5G support, Wifi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 with a USB Type-C port. The Mi Pad 5 packs a huge 10,000 mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. It runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 on top.

Pricing:

Lastly, the source also revealed the pricing details of the new Mi Pad 5. The new Mi Pad 5 with 8GB+128GB cost 3999 Yuan (Rs.45,700/-), 8GB+256GB at 4299 Yuan (Rs.49,300/-), 12GB+512GB at 4999 Yuan (Rs.57,100/-) and 12GB+1TB at 5499 Yuan (Rs.63,000/-) in China.
