After the launch of Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset aka SD888 SoC now it’s time for the Samsung Exynos flagship. Yes, Samsung has finally announced its flagship chipset Exynos 2100 SoC. Just two days prior to the official Galaxy S21 series launch we have the announcement for Exynos 2100 SoC.
The new Exynos 2100 SoC will be built on the new 5nm extreme ultra-violet process node similar to SD888 SoC. Finally, Samsung has ditched the custom cores for ARM Cortex with the new Exynos 2100 SoC. So the new Exynos 2100 SoC will ship with a powerful ARM Cortex X1 clocked at 2.9 GHz speed coupled with three-high performance Cortex A78 cores and four battery efficient Cortex A55 cores.
The new Exynos 2100 SoC comes with a massive 30% improvement in multi-core performance when compared with Exynos 990 SoC. Further, the 5nm process will also bring 20% better power consumption than Exynos 990 SoC. It features Arm Mali G78 GPU which increases the GPU performance by 40% and comes with new advanced multi-IP governor (AMIGO) technology. The AMIGO tech reduces the power usage of CPU, GPU, etc.
The chipset comes with support for Bluetooth 5.1, Wifi 6E, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1or 2.1 storage. The Exynos 2100 SoC comes with a new tri-core NPU which can execute up to 26-trillion-operations-per-second (TOPS). The chipset also comes with an integrated 5G modem which supports sub-6GHz and mmWave networks.
Lastly, the Exynos 2100 SoC will also come with a new image signal processor (ISP) that supports camera resolutions up to 200MP.
