Xiaomi has finally unveiled the much more improved version of MIUI 12 with new MIUI 12.5 in China today. The new MIUI 12.5 is a slightly incremental update over the MIUI 12 with some improvements and upgraded features. Previously Xiaomi had already announced the list of devices where they can apply for close beta MIUI 12.5 update.
Now Xiaomi has finally revealed the features of the new MIUI 12.5 update at the Mi 11 launch event. As per Xiaomi, the new MIUI 12.5 update will further be optimized and made faster and lighter than the MIUI 12. The company claims that MIUI 12.5 has reduced background memory usage by 35% and also reduced power consumption by 25%.
Further, MIUI 12.5 comes with a gesture-specific thread, speed-up drive, without any lag. It comes with all-new Super Wallpapers that changes the color of the wallpaper automatically based on time. It also adds three new Super Wallpapers with Earth, Mars, Saturn.
The new MIUI 12.5 also gets MIUI Sound Design with a natural sound effect system, integrating “natural” into the DNA of sound design. With this MIUI 12.5 will get nearly 120 kinds of creatures sound that can be set for notifications. Not just that the MIUI 12.5 also gets double privacy protection with new clipboard privacy protection. It also gets World’s first security features when exactly one can allow an app to read your internal storage data with the help of the Sandbox mechanism.
The Sandbox mechanism will allow apps to read your private data only when the user allows it. The MIUI 12.5 adds an integrated fuzzy positioning function based on differential privacy technology, returning the right to choose to you, maximizing your privacy. MIUI has a natural touch and presents a real touch on the phone. Refine the feedback characteristics in reality and present a natural touch with a fine vibration. Abundant transient tactile library, covering the whole system.
Finally, Xiaomi also develops a new feature called MIUI+ which is nothing but Samsung DeX like feature. With MIUI+ one can combine the phone and computer into a single working station. It is similar to Samsung DeX where one can use all your phone apps on the computer without touch one mobile.
Further, we also get Floating windows one feature from Android 11 to MIUI 12.5 update. One can minimize the full-screen app to the floating icon which we saw with Samsung OneUI in the past.
