Previously we saw MediaTek and Qualcomm jumping into the 5G segment based processor under the premium and mid-range segment. We even got the cheapest 5G chipset with SD690 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC. Now we have new leaks appearing revealing the roadmap of the new Qualcomm and MediaTek SoC.
As per the source, the tipster has just leaked an image showing the roadmap of the new Qualcomm and MediaTek processor. From the leaked image we can see that Qualcomm flagship SD875G SoC will be based on the 5nm process and will be going official by Q1 of 2021. The SD875G SoC will be based on the Samsung 5nm EUV process.
Further, Qualcomm will also update its mid-range and budget segment with SD735G and SD435 SoC. The SD735G will again be 5nm EUV process whereas there is no details about the budget phone. MediaTek is also looking to expand it is budget 5G processor with Dimensity series.
As per the source, MediaTek Dimensity 400 the cheapest 5G processor along with mid-range Dimensity 600 SoC will launch some time Q3 of 2020. Both the processor might use the 6nm process which is hybrid between 7nm and 5nm. Lastly, 5nm flagship MediaTek 5G SoC by 2021.
