Android 11

Google was about to announce the Android 11 Beta update on June 4 which was delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. After a long wait, Google has finally launched the Android 11 update to its Pixel devices today. Yes, after rolling out successful Developer Preview we now finally got the Beta update of the Android 11.

One can register for the Android 11 Beta update through Google account for regular updates. The list of devices which are now receiving the Android 11 Beta update is Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3aXL, Pixel 4 & Pixel 4XL. If you are already on DP version of Android 11 then the device will be getting an OTA update for the beta version soon.

The new features included in the Android 11 Beta update are the Bubbles API that is floating notification so one can minimise multiple apps. Next comes the one-time permission setting where users can allow or deny permission on a case by case basis. The new Android 11 update also gets the native file sharing support similar to AirDrop on iOS with Fast Share. The new Fast Share feature will send files to other android devices through Wifi.
