Surface Book 3

After Apple, we now have another major brand with Microsoft updating its laptop lineup under the Surface brand with Surface Book 3 & Surface Go 2. So basically, the new Surface Book 3 is 2 in 1 laptop or hybrid device where the display can be detachable and the Surface Go 2 is a cheaper and compact laptop.

Microsoft Surface Book 3:

The new Surface Book 3 is the most powerful machine from Microsoft with a detachable display. The new Surface Book 3 will arrive in two display sizes with 13.5 inches and 15 inches with 15mm to 23mm thickness and weighs 1.5 Kg to 1.9 Kg respectively. The new Surface Book 3 13.5 inches sports 3000×2000 PixelSense touchscreen display whereas the 15 inches with 3240×2160 PixelSense touchscreen display.

Surface Book 3

Surface Book 3 will be using 10th Gen Intel Core processor with either  Intel Core i5-1035G7 or Core i7-1065G7 for 13.5 inches and  Intel Core i7-1065G7 for the 15 inches model. The 13.5 inches model comes with customisable graphics from with Intel Iris Plus Graphics while the i7 model comes with an Nvidia GTX 1650 MaxQ with 4GBs of GDRR5 VRAM. The 15 inches model comes with only GTX 1660 Ti with 6GBs of GDDR6 VRAM.

Surface Book 3

The connectivity option includes Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi 6, Xbox Wireless built-in (15 inches only), 2x USB-A port, 2 x Surface Connect port and  1 USB-C version 3.1 Gen 2 with USB PD 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and full-size SD card. The Surface Book 3 comes with 5MP selfie FHD camera and 8MP rear camera. Surface Book 3 has dual far-field studio mics and front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. The 13.5 inches comes with 15.5 hours whereas the 15 inches with 17.5 Hours battery back up.

Surface Book 3 starts at $1,599 (Rs.1,21,600/-) and will be available starting on May 21st.

Microsoft Surface Go 2:

Microsoft also announced the successor to last year launched Go series with Surface Go 2. The new Surface Go 2 is a compact laptop with just 10.5 inches display and measures 8.3 mm thick. The Surface Go 2 comes with 10.5 inches FHD display with Active Pen support.

Surface Go 2

The Surface Go 2 comes in two different processors with Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y or 8th Gen Intel Core m3 CPU. It comes with same graphics for both the chip with Intel UHD Graphics 615. The Surface Go 2 comes with 4GB or 8GB of RAM and either 64GB of eMMC or 128GB SSD storage options. It also comes with microSD card slot with expansion up to 1TB.

Surface Go 2

The connectivity option includes Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi, LTE support as it is powered by Qualcomm X16 LTE modem, USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm audio jack. The Surface Go 2 gives a battery life of 10 hours on general usage. The Surface Go 2 comes with 5MP selfie FHD camera and 8MP rear camera. It also features dual far-field studio-quality and also has stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium. It runs on Windows 10 Home in S Mode out of the box. If you want the full version of Windows 10 one can upgrade for free to any either Home or Pro.

Surface Go 2

The Surface Go 2 will start at $399 (Rs.30,500/-) and be available starting on May 12th. It will be available in Silver with Type covers in Platinum, Black, Poppy Red, and Ice Blue.
