After tons of leaks and rumours, Xiaomi finally launches the new mid-range smartphone with Redmi Note 8 Pro & Redmi Note 8 in China. The new Redmi Note 8 Pro & Redmi Note 8 will arrive in White, Jade Green and Electric Gray colours. The new Redmi Note 8 Pro will go on sale from Sept 3 whereas the Redmi Note 8 from Sept 17 in China.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro with 6GB+64GB is priced at 1399 Yuan (Rs.14,050/-), 1599 Yuan for 6GB+128GB (Rs.16,050/-) and 8GB+128GB at 1799 Yuan (Rs.18,100/-). The new Redmi Note 8 with 4GB+64GB at 999 Yuan (Rs.10,100/-), 6GB+64GB at 1199 Yuan (Rs.12,100/-) and 6GB+128GB at 1399 Yuan (Rs.14,100/-) in China. The Gamepad is priced at 179 Yuan (Rs.1795/-).
The new Redmi Note 8 & Redmi Note 8 Pro features a new glossy 3D curved glass back protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The new Redmi Note 8 Pro & Redmi Note 8 weighs around 199.8 grams and 190 grams and measures 8.79 mm and 8.35 mm thick.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro sports larger 6.53 inches whereas the Redmi Note 8 with 6.3 inches same FHD+ IPS LCD waterdrop display (2340 × 1080p) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Redmi Note 8 Pro becomes the world’s first smartphone to powered by MediaTek Helio G90T SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage whereas Redmi Note 8 is powered by SD665 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro also becomes the first smartphone in the world with 64MP primary Samsung ISOCELL GW1 with an aperture of f/1.8, 0.8μm pixel size, whereas the Redmi Note 8 features Sony IMX586 48MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.79. Both the devices come with 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens with 1.12μm pixel with 2MP depth sensor and 2MP 2cm macro sensor with 1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture, EIS, LED flash.
Redmi Note 8 features 13MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 and 20MP selfie shooter on the Redmi Note 8 Pro. For the first time ever the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with IP52 certified making it Splash resistant whereas the Redmi Note 8 comes with P2i coating making it Splashproof.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, 3.5 mm audio jack, IR blaster, fingerprint scanner, FM Radio and NFC (only on Redmi Note 8 Pro). The Redmi Note 8 Pro packs larger 4500 mAh battery whereas the Redmi Note 8 packs 4000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging on both. Both the Redmi Note 8 & Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
Further, Xiaomi India CEO Manu Jain confirmed that they will soon launch the Redmi Note 8 series in India via Twitter. As per the Tweet, the Redmi Note 8 series will be launching in India by 8 weeks from now due to certification.
