Earlier we saw few rumours about Xiaomi planning to enter the 5G segment soon with Redmi series probably for the budget segment. Now Xiaomi GM just confirmed the rumours and also reveals few details about the upcoming 5G smartphone.
As per the post on Weibo, the upcoming Redmi 5G phone will come with a bigger battery that makes the phone slightly heavier at 200 grams and also thicker over 9.0 mm. Further, he states that one must give up the slim and lighter smartphones under the 5G era as its difficult to make such devices.
Sadly, Lu Weibing, didn’t refer the upcoming 5G phone will launch under Redmi brand but we can expect it will launch under the same. We are still not sure about the device specs and form factor at the moment.
