Earlier we saw Xiaomi and Redmi promising to provide the much awaited Android 9 Pie update to their device. Redmi also updated the new Redmi Note 5 Pro along with Redmi Note 6 Pro with latest Android 9 Pie update. Now we have some bad news for Redmi 6 & Redmi 6A users.
As per the official MIUI forums, Xiaomi has Change of Plan, Suspension of Recruitment which means that the Redmi 6 & Redmi 6A will never receive the new Android 9 Pie update anymore. Anyway, the company might have canceled the Android 9 Pie update due to unknown reasons but the device might still get the next version of MIUI with MIUI 11.
The new Redmi 6 & Redmi 6A is the cheapest and best sellers under 7k segment which were launched in India last year. With this news, we might see many fans disappointed with no major Android update in the future.
