Earlier we saw a new trend of adding in-display camera, in-display fingerprint scanner and Sound on display features which allowed brands to develop all-display with almost thinner bezels and save a lot of space. Now LG the popular South Korean company has reportedly developed the first in-display 5G antenna on a smartphone.
LG has recently announced the new LG G8 ThinQ which came with Sound Cast technology that uses the display as a speaker and now the company has just added another layer on the display which has no effect on phone thickness and serves as a 5G antenna for better reception.
LG has developed such a thin film that can support all 30 of the 5G antenna into one single film. With the help of this film, one can transmit and receive the signal via the display and there will be no loss in signal due to the presence of antenna on the display. LG has successfully implemented the new in-display 5G antenna on the smartphone but doesn’t expect the new feature to be out soon on any smartphone as it is still under development phase.
