Earlier Xiaomi shared a video showing the future of mobile with the first foldable smartphone. Now Xiaomi has given an official statement to Lets Go Digital which gives us the difficulties faced and also many other challenges to make the foldable display happen with proper MIUI custom skin.
Further, Xiaomi also claims that it is the first brand in the world to show the folding phone with three different form factors like the double, single and tablet folded mode. Apart from the official statement, the publication has also shared some 3D renders showing the Xiaomi foldable smartphone.
From the render, we can confirm that the UI on the device is not MIUI. Further, Xiaomi is planning to name the device as Xiaomi Dual Flex or Xiaomi MIX Flex. As per the source, the Xiaomi foldable smartphone when folded gets display bends backward and wraps behind the phone which also automatically sets the middle of the screen as a usable portion.
When the device is unfolded it acts as a tablet with complete part of the display can be used. Sadly, we are still not sure where exactly the camera resides even in the new renders. Anyway, there is a power button located over the top of the device and USB Type-C port at the bottom. There is earpiece above the display. As of now, we are still not sure when will Xiaomi launch their first foldable smartphone.
