Sony who is struggling to mark its presence in the smartphone world globally has now filed a new patent for a most innovative dual transparent display. Sony was the first smartphone brand to introduce the new 4K display and now we have the transparent display in works.
As per WIPO, Sony has applied patents for Display device and electronic apparatus in May and was published on Nov 22 which are under approval stage. As per the patent, the new Sony smartphone will feature dual display one at the front with LED elements whereas the secondary display will come with light controls which will us the reflection of light. Hence the name transparent display.
Further the patent also mentions that the showed Sony smartphone will also include the Gravity position sensor and light sensor along with Gyro sensor or accelerometer so that it can detect which side of the display is in use. The image also shows some buttons placed below the display which might be either physical keys or screen navigation keys.
Further, the new patent also reveals that the device will come with six display modes three for the front and remaining three for the rear of the device and display will turn to transparent, semi-transparent and non-transparent based on modes.
Sony has also planned to use the transparent displays on the upcoming foldable smartphones. As per Sony, they need nearly four displays to make a transparent foldable display. The patent also reveals that the device will have a camera placed on the right display and the device can be folded with three or more foldable displays.
