Earlier we had few leaks about the most compact device from the brand Palm. Palm was sold to TCL in 2014 but WebOS was taken by LG in 2013 to make its way on smart devices. Now finally TCL owned Palm has launched a smartphone companion with Palm Phone in the US. Palm Phone comes in Titanium and Gold colors and is priced at $349 (Rs.25,800/-) in the US. The Palm Phone will be exclusive to Verizon and will go on sale from November.
The Palm Phone is not a Phone instead is a smart accessory which needs to be connected with your main smartphone. It acts like smartwatch but functions as a phone and can’t make calls on its own and need a secondary device to make calls. The Palm Phone gets connected through the main smartphone via Verizon Number Share service.
Palm Phone is made out of Aluminium Chassis along with glass back which makes the device premium. It weighs around 62.5 grams which makes the lightest smartphone and is 7.4 mm thick. The Palm Phone sports 3.3 inches HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on both the front as well as the back of the device.
Palm Phone is powered by SD 435 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded via microSD cards up to 128GB. The Palm Phone features a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP selfie camera which doubles up as Face Unlock. The device also comes with IP68 ratings which makes it dust and water resistant.
The Palm Phone does run on the custom skin which shows the App icons instead of a traditional Andriod launcher and can be accessed by gestures pad on the bottom of the screen. It also features Life Mode which makes the device enter the sleep mode as you turn off the screen.
The connectivity option includes 4G LTE, Wifi, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, and USB Type-C port. It is fueled by 800 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
