In India, Motorola unveiled the Moto Tag, a wireless, waterproof, and lightweight tracking gadget that makes it easy for consumers to find their belongings. Moto Tag attaches to your belongings to track them using Google’s Find My Device network via Bluetooth Low Energy.
Global item tracking is made possible by the device’s integration with Google’s Find My Device network, according to the business. The Moto tag is compatible with Android devices running version 9.0 or higher, as well as any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet, thanks to its Bluetooth 5.4, Ultra Wideband (UWB), and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) features.
Using end-to-end encryption puts privacy first and ensures that only the owner can use the Find My Device app to find the device. According to Motorola, the Bluetooth signal can travel up to 100 meters, and the tracking procedure is safe and anonymous.
Moto Tag also offers improved precision tracking when paired with Android smartphones that support Ultra Wideband, such as the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. Still, this feature is pending Google’s integration of UWB into Find My Device.
Its battery life is expected to last an entire year on a single charge, and it can be replaced as it uses a standard CR2032 cell. With an IP67 rating, you can take it anywhere.
A multifunctional button on the Moto Tag allows you to locate your phone and remotely control your camera. Moto Tag works with iOS and Android’s unwanted tracker alerts, ensuring users don’t have unwanted trackers on them.
It’s quite interesting to note that the Moto Tag’s design is quite similar to the Apple AirTag, allowing you to use all third-party accessories made for Apple’s tracker.
Pricing:
Priced at Rs. 2,299, the Moto tag will be available starting April 23, 2025, at 12 PM on Motorola’s official website, motorola.in and Flipkart. It comes in two colors: Sage Green and Starlight Blue.
