As promised, realme unveiled its Interchangeable-Lens Concept at Mobile World Congress 2025, a prototype smartphone designed to discover the potential of modular optics for mobile photography. A proprietary lens mount system and a 1-inch Sony sensor can attach DSLR lenses to the device.
Two lenses were used in the demonstration: a 73mm portrait lens and a 234mm telephoto lens. These lenses are claimed to offer enhanced optical performance and a lossless 10x zoom.
Realme describes this prototype as a demonstration of its efforts to address current mobile imaging technology limitations, including sensor size constraints and quality compromises associated with digital zoom. To improve image quality, the company is investigating the integration of modular optics.
Although the Interchangeable Lens Concept is currently a prototype, and hence not intended for mass production, it illustrates Realme’s research and development in mobile photography.
Realme Next AI Tech:
Furthermore, realme presented two AI-powered imaging technologies: AI Voice-based Retoucher and AI Video Eraser.
Users can edit photos with AI Voice-based Retoucher by using voice commands. The technology allows users to speak instructions to request specific changes, such as background removal, sky replacement, or visual effects, to simplify editing processes.
You can easily remove unwanted objects from video footage using AI Video Eraser with a single tap. The technology provides a streamlined video editing solution.
Realme aims to simplify editing workflows and enhance user experience by integrating AI into its imaging software.
