The Barbie Phone, a retro flip phone introduced last year by HMD Global in partnership with Mattel, has just been launched in India. With it, you can call, text, and live in the real world without being distracted by the digital world.
Only pink in color, it has a screen on the front that works as a mirror so that you can touch up on the go.
The Mattel collaboration features many pinks. In addition to a removable 1,450mAh pink battery and a pink USB-C cable, the phone comes with a colour-matched polishing cloth. Two replaceable back covers, a beaded strap, attachable charms, and Barbie stickers are also included.
It has a 2.8-inch main screen and a 1.77-inch cover screen. There is a Unisoc T107 chipset with 64MB RAM and 128MB storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. It features a single VGA (0.3MP) camera, Bluetooth 5, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
The S30+ operating system is used in most markets, but the US version will run KaiOS instead. HMD added Custom Barbie icons, wallpapers, and ringtones to the phone’s UI. The Barbie phone also has a digital well-being tip, a Barbie Meditation app, and a self-care reminder.
The HMD Barbie Phone costs Rs.7999/- in India and is already on sale.
