It looks like Google’s next budget Pixel phone is just around the corner. The Pixel 9a has already made its rounds online, but a new leak confirms its global and Indian launch dates.
Yogesh Brar said the news came from X (formerly Twitter). He said Google’s Pixel 9a handset could be available globally within two weeks. Google is reportedly set to launch the Pixel 9a on March 19, 2025. The Indian release will take place a day later, on March 20. According to this report, the Pixel 9a will be released much sooner than its predecessor, the Pixel 8a. It was released globally in May.
In addition to this, Yogesh leaked some disappointing news. Even though “Pixel A” phones are known for their top-tier specs and cut corners, they’re typically quite expensive. The pricing for the iPhone 16e is a great example. As a result, it is disappointing when the tipster claims “another year of exorbitant pricing”.

The new Google Pixel 9a will sport a 6.3-inch FHD+ Actua 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED flat punch-hole display. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and supports HDR10+. When playing HDR content, the display can reach 1400 nits with a peak brightness of 2700 nits. It measures 8.9mm thick and weighs 186g.
The new Google Pixel 9a is powered by the new Tensor G4 SoC, which comes with a Titan M2 security chip. The phone has 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage options.
The Google Pixel 9a has a 48MP Samsung GN8 main wide sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, coupled with a 13MP Sony IMX712 ultra-wide shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It can shoot 4K videos at 60fps and has a 13MP selfie shooter.
The new Pixel 9a also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers. It packs a 5100 mAh battery with 23W fast wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging. It runs on the latest Android 15 OS out of the box. It is also IP68 certified, making it dust—and water-resistant.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM, Wi-Fi-6, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C port, NFC, Dual SIM with 4G LTE, and 5G with mmWave support.
The Pixel 9a will receive seven years of OS, security, and feature updates.
