According to reports, Google will launch the Pixel 10 series of smartphones in August 2025. The new smartphones will be the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Fold, and Pixel 10 Pro. Multiple leaks have already surfaced for the first three phones. According to a report, Google will change Android to speed up the startup time of the Pixel 10.

Several changes to Android’s boot process have allowed the Pixel 10 to load 30 percent faster, according to Android Authority’s Mishaal Rahman. While browsing the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code, Rahman spotted a reference to the Pixel 10. According to a Google engineer, the change reduced loading time by 30 percent on the Pixel 10.

During Android’s initialization process, Mishaal explained that Google is speeding up one part. Android will benefit from Google’s changes to how the kernel modules are loaded, improving bootup module times. The exact effects of a 30 percent reduction in loading time cannot be predicted.

Besides the Pixel 10, the team tested the change on a Pixel Fold. Google will release it to Android’s open-source codebase, affecting every Android device. This won’t happen before Android 16 is released quarterly.
