According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to significantly update its iOS and macOS operating systems for iPhones and Macs.

In his latest newsletter, Gurman shared that the upcoming iOS 19 will feature a new look resembling Apple’s Vision Pro headset design. This means the interface will have more see-through elements and new styles for buttons and windows. The goal is to make Apple devices feel more consistent and user-friendly.

We’ve already seen hints of this new transparent design in the Camera app, and similar updates will likely be made to notifications and other parts of the system. So far, three different sources have confirmed these design changes, suggesting that this rumour is likely accurate.

Similar updates are expected for the iPad and Mac, with their respective new versions called iPadOS 19 and macOS 16. Gurman has noted that the changes in iOS 19 will be the most significant since the major overhaul happened with iOS 7.

Apple is expected to announce iOS 19 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025, shortly followed by a developer beta version. The final version of the software will be available to everyone in September, around the same time the iPhone 17 is released.
