The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be available in the next couple of weeks. The device is rumoured to launch in China and globally around the same time. The company is likely to aim for MWC 2025 to achieve this. We leak the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, featuring a new design.
Launch Date:
In the coming weeks, Xiaomi will launch its newest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The company announced the device’s release date on X (formerly Twitter) earlier today.
The phone will be unveiled on March 2, 2025. With this release, the company continues to deliver cutting-edge technology and innovative designs to consumers worldwide. Xiaomi’s 15 Ultra smartphone aims to set new standards in the smartphone industry based on its reputation for high-performance devices.
Design:
As you can see in the images, the phone’s back will still have a large camera. However, the entire camera module seems to take even more space than last year, though the layout inside will be different.
The top-right corner will contain a periscope telephoto camera, one of four inside. Leica’s branding will also be visible here. The camera will protrude on the back. Powerful cameras will be installed on the inside.
It’s primarily flat on the sides but curves toward the edges. Xiaomi will use a quad micro-curved design here. The phone’s front and back glass will be slightly curved, but the display itself will be flat.
The display camera hole will be centred at the very top of the display. The phone will have very thin, uniform bezels around it. On the phone’s right side, you’ll find the power/lock, volume up and down buttons, and all the physical keys.
For us, the phone’s dual-tone look is its most interesting feature. Even though it has appeared before, this is a better look at how it looks. The back of the Xiaomi phone will likely feature both glass and vegan leather. Xiaomi 15 Ultra measures 161.3 x 75.3 x 9.48mm and weighs 229 grams.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra:
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will sport a 6.73-inch QHD+ C8 12-bit AMOLED quad-curved LTPO display. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display also supports HDR10+ and has Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 EliteSoC coupled with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The device shines in terms of imaging capabilities. Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a new Leica Summicron lens, a new generation of cameras, and a large aperture at all focal lengths. Four Leica cameras with large apertures are included on the device. The camera supports snapshots, night scenes, and 8K video, making it a photographer’s dream.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra will indeed feature a 1-inch 50MP primary Sony LYT-900 sensor. It is coupled with another 50MP JN5 122-degree Ultra-wide Leica sensor and a 50MP IMX858 telephoto lens with 3x Optical zoom. Lastly, a 200MP HP9 periscopic lens has 4.3x optical zoom and OIS support. The good thing is that all four of them can shoot videos up to 8K resolution. It also gets dual-colour temperature LED flash and laser AF. Under the punch-hole notch, there is a 32MP selfie shooter.
It also features an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, an X-Axis motor, and Harmon Kardon stereo speakers. Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes with IP68 dust and is water-resistant. Xiaomi’s Surge P2 and Surge G1 custom chips will monitor battery life and charging.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and 5G (Dual-Mode support), A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, Dual Band Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Both run on Android 14 with the latest HyperOS on top. It packs a massive 5410 mAh battery with 90W fast wired and 80W wireless charging support.
