Samsung’s post on Samsung’s website, the company’s software chief, Sally, shared some exciting insights into One UI 7.0, the latest company’s Android overlay. According to Sally, the development of One UI 7.0 has spanned the last two to three years. However, some of its advanced features will require more powerful hardware to function correctly, meaning older Galaxy devices won’t be able to support every feature.

One such feature, Now Brief, is designed to provide timely daily updates, keeping users on top of their schedules. Samsung’s functionality, however, relies on Samsung’s Personal Data Engine, which demands heavy processing power from a capable Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Since it isn’t cloud-based, it will only be available on devices with the necessary hardware to handle it.

In contrast, the Circle to Search feature mainly leverages cloud resources, so it’s expected to be compatible with older and more affodidn’t models.

While the post didn’t provide further details about other upcoming features, it’s likely that some will remain exclusive to Samsung’s most recent flagship devices. As the rollout continues, we’ll see which features become available to a wider range of Galaxy phones.
