Fans of OnePlus foldables will have to wait longer for a successor to the 2023 OnePlus Open. The company has confirmed that it will not release the OnePlus Open 2 this year, despite leaked renders and specs surfacing online in recent months.

Instead, OnePlus launched the Open Apex Edition last year, which features a Crimson Shadow colour, 16GB of RAM, a hefty 1TB of storage, and VIP Mode, targeting users who seek high-end performance.

While the OnePlus Open 2 is not happening in 2024, OnePlus has reaffirmed its dedication to the foldable market. The company has shared its plans to integrate advanced hardware features, including new materials and refined engineering from the upcoming OPPO Find N5, into future OnePlus devices. This move indicates a focus on utilizing OPPO’s progress in foldable technology.

Current OnePlus Open owners can rest easy. OnePlus has committed to ongoing support for the original Open, ensuring regular software updates, security patches, and continuous after-sales service.
