OPPO is all set to unveil its latest foldable flagship, the OPPO Find N5, at a global event in Singapore on February 20th. On the same day, the device will also debut in China alongside the highly anticipated OPPO Watch X2. In a recent post, OPPO’s Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau, shared images of the Find N5’s inner display, comparing it to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. He highlighted that the Find N5 boasts a crease-free screen, setting it apart from competitors.
One of the standout features of the Find N5 is its innovative 3D-printed titanium alloy hinge, a first for foldable smartphones. This ensures both durability and reliability. Additionally, the device will be powered by the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, making it the first foldable phone to feature this processor. The Find N5 will also lead the pack in water resistance, being the first model to achieve IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings.
Zhou Yibao, head of the OPPO Find series, confirmed that the Find N5 will support 50W wireless charging. He further revealed that the phone incorporates 20 new materials across 30 critical components. Remarkably, the motherboard has been shortened by 31.4% compared to its predecessor. This ensures a lightweight design without compromising on strength or functionality. This marks a significant leap forward in overcoming the traditional limitations of foldable screens.
The teaser video showcases the Find N5 in three stunning finishes: Misty White and Cosmic Black with a sleek glass back, and Twilight Purple featuring a luxurious leather finish. However, the global teaser omits the leather-backed variant. According to earlier leaks, the Find N5 will sport an expansive 8.12-inch flat foldable display, a 50MP triple-camera setup including a periscope telephoto lens, ColorOS 15, a custom-designed C port, and a robust 5700mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support.
In Singapore, the Find N5 is already available for pre-order, with customers receiving a complimentary OPPO Pen worth SG$159. Meanwhile, in China, OPPO will also launch the OPPO Watch X2. This might later arrive globally as the OnePlus Watch 3 Pro.
OPPO Watch X2
The OPPO Watch X2 will feature a premium titanium bezel. It will be available in Black, Blue, and Silver, each paired with matching straps. A notable addition is the pyramid-patterned rotating crown. This enables users to zoom in and out within apps, adjust volume, and more. Health-conscious users will appreciate its advanced features, including hypertension risk alerts, ECG capabilities, a 60-second health check, wrist temperature monitoring, and comprehensive exercise tracking.
The smartwatch is expected to have a 46-mm OLED display. It also gets eSIM functionality along with a 631/648mAh battery with 10W fast charging. Further, there is GPS, NFC, and 5ATM + IP68 water and dust resistance. The launch event will take place on February 20th at 7 PM Singapore time (4:30 PM IST). Stay tuned for what could be a game-changer in the world of foldable smartphones and smartwatches!
