Tim Cook revealed yesterday that Apple will announce the long-rumored iPhone SE 4 on February 19. This is the much-anticipated update to the company’s cheapest smartphone. It’ll start at $499, $70 more than its predecessor.
However, if a new leak shows a Chinese retailer listing for the device is accurate, you might only get 64GB of storage for that price. It will be available in three storage tiers: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Apple might go another route to preserve profit margins to maintain its midrange Android phones in 2025. Additionally, Apple’s storage upgrades can cost $100 each, as is the norm.
Thus, expect the 128GB iPhone SE 4 to cost $599 and the 256GB model to cost $699. As we’ve mentioned recently, Google’s Pixel 9a will compete head-on with the iPhone SE 4 since there aren’t many mid-range phones in North America. If this rumour pans out, the Pixel 9a might be $100 cheaper with the same amount of storage. It is rumoured that the iPhone SE 4 will have iPhone 14 looks, an A18 chip, and 8GB of RAM.
