The highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to make its global debut as confirmed by a company executive, following the successful worldwide release of its predecessor. Expected to launch as soon as next month, a fresh hands-on image of the device has just surfaced, thanks to a well-known tipster on the social platform X. This image offers a first look at the back of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, showcasing significant design changes from its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
The rear design features a notably large camera module, which, while retaining the size from the previous model, introduces new placements for its sensors, LED flash array, and the iconic Leica branding. Unlike the seamless frame transition into the rear panel in the 14 Ultra, the new model adopts a more conventional design that aligns more closely with recent trends set by other smartphone manufacturers.
A standout feature in the design is a distinctive red ring encircling the camera setup. The device is shown in a black variant with a textured glass back that promises to dazzle when caught in the light.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumoured to be a powerhouse, equipped with a cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and running on Android 15, topped with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2. It’s speculated to feature a versatile camera system including a groundbreaking 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, a 50 MP short-range telephoto camera, a primary camera boasting a 1-inch Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera utilizing Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor.
The device is also expected to offer robust battery life with a 6,000 mAh battery, supporting rapid 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, setting new benchmarks in smartphone technology.
