In February, Realme is set to launch the Realme Neo 7 SE in China, featuring the new Dimensity 8400-Max chipset. However, the Neo 7 SE won’t be the only high-performance smartphone hitting the Chinese market.
According to a Chinese tipster, the more robust Realme GT 7 is also expected to make its debut next month. Realme introduced the Realme GT 7 Pro in November 2024, which comes equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
More recently, a Realme phone bearing the model number RMX5090 was listed on the TENAA certification platform. This listing revealed that, unlike the GT 7 Pro, the RMX5090 omits a periscope telephoto lens and instead sports a redesigned dual-camera module, replacing the GT 7 Pro’s triple-camera arrangement.
While it’s unclear what the final name for the Realme RMX5090 will be, it’s tentatively called the Realme GT 7. Tipster Experience More noted that along with the Neo 7 SE, the Realme GT 7 is slated for announcement by the end of February in China.
The GT 7 Pro was Realmeās first model to feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, but it’s uncertain if the GT 7 will include this technology. It’s more likely that the GT 7 will have an optical-type in-screen fingerprint sensor to keep costs down.
Furthermore, the tipster mentioned that the upcoming Realme Neo 7 SE is essentially the Neo 7 but with the new Dimensity 8400-Max chip, replacing the Dimensity 9300+ chip used in the original Neo 7 launched in December 2024. The only significant difference is the chipset, positioning the Neo 7 SE as a contender to be the most affordable Dimensity 8400 phone, potentially surpassing the Redmi Turbo 4.
