Nothing is gearing up to launch its first true flagship, the Nothing Phone (3), alongside two mid-range models: the Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Plus. While it’s still unclear which devices will be unveiled at Nothing’s March 4 event, recent leaks have highlighted what to expect from the Nothing Phone (3a).

Specs:

The Nothing Phone (3a) is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, marking a shift from MediaTek chips used in its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2a) (which featured the Dimensity 7200 Pro). According to leaks from Gadget Bits, the device (model number A059) will run on Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15, and will retain the iconic Glyph lighting system.

The phone is expected to feature a larger 6.8-inch OLED display with a 1080p+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, making it the biggest “a-series” model yet. It will sport a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies, consistent with previous Nothing phones.

One of the standout upgrades for the Nothing Phone (3a) is its rear camera setup. Reports suggest it will include a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, marking Nothing’s first foray into telephoto photography. However, this upgrade comes at the cost of the ultra-wide camera, which is rumoured to drop to 8MP (down from the 50MP ultra-wide sensors used in earlier models). The primary camera will also feature a 50MP sensor, though specific details remain under wraps.

Interestingly, the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus is rumoured to feature a periscope telephoto lens, offering a longer focal length than the 2x zoom on the (3a). Meanwhile, the flagship Nothing Phone (3) is expected to boast the most advanced telephoto camera in the lineup, though details are still scarce.

The Nothing Phone (3a) is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging, matching the specs of the Nothing Phone (2a). This should ensure solid battery life and fast charging capabilities for everyday use.

Launch Date:

Nothing has scheduled its next event for March 4, where the Phone (3a) and possibly the entire Phone (3) series will be unveiled. Given Carl Pei’s tendency to tease upcoming products, we can expect plenty of hints and previews in the weeks leading up to the launch.
