In about two months, Apple plans to challenge budget-friendly Android devices by introducing an upgraded iPhone SE model. The upcoming iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to ditch its outdated design in favour of a more modern look, incorporating Apple Intelligence features for the first time.
This means that for less than $500, customers might get the technology of the iPhone 16 packed into the casing of an iPhone 14. Supporting these rumours, images of what are believed to be iPhone SE 4 dummy units have been shared by leaker Sonny Dickson.
Dickson has uploaded two photos showing the alleged iPhone SE 4 models. The first image displays the back of the device in both white and black, colours typically chosen by Apple for its iPhones. Notably, these models feature a larger rear camera sensor, positioned in the top left corner, which is consistent with speculations of a 48MP camera upgrade.
The second photo provides a look at what appears to be the frame of the iPhone SE 4, showing the standard mute switch, volume buttons, and a physical SIM card slot. It also offers a peek at the front side of the phone, which importantly lacks a physical home button.
Expected to debut in March as the iPhone 16E, and priced under $500, the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to feature the A18 chip found in the base model iPhone 16, along with a USB-C port, improved camera capabilities, an OLED screen, and other enhancements.
