Initial pictures and renders of the Google Pixel 9a show a design that differs from the Pixel 9 series. A new set of real-world Pixel 9a pictures has leaked.
There are two pictures posted on Twitter by feni_book that appear to show a Pixel 9a prototype. However, it’s unclear if they are the source of these photos. Regardless, the back of the phone features unique patterns and a different logo than the typical Google logo.
Markings such as these are typically used to track individual prototypes and prevent leaks. On the back of the phone and the sticker, it is also mentioned that this is an EVT, or engineering validation test device.
There is a pill-shaped camera housing in one of the pictures. According to this leak, the Pixel 9a won’t have a camera visor bar similar to recent Pixel flagships. There is also a punch-hole cutout on the centre of the sheet, along with flat edges and rounded corners.
IMEI numbers in various IMEI databases reveal that one of the images belongs to a Google device with the model number GTF7P. Whether this is a prototype model number or a commercial Pixel 9a is unclear.
