Last week, the European versions of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 trio visited the FCC, and the details confirmed that each would have wireless charging – but didn’t specify what type. According to Jukanlosreve, Ice Universe has reportedly revealed that the S25 models will support Qi2 charging.
It doesn’t say much on its own, however. There are two Qi2 profiles – Extended Power Profile (15W, no magnets) and Magnetic Power Profile (still 15W, but with magnets for alignment and attachment). HMD Skyline is the first Android phone with Qi2 MPP.
Oppo also has a series of “Oppo Mag” accessories that use magnets, but they’re primarily cases with embedded magnets. There are no magnets on the phones themselves. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 supports Mag accessories with a special case that does not support Qi2. The “MagVOOC” standard is used instead.
Now let’s see what Samsung has planned for the Galaxy S25 series. Is there something with magnetic cases or will magnets be skipped altogether with Qi2 MPP compatibility?
Launch Date leaked:
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 on January 22, 2025 (Wednesday), according to tipster Abhishek Yadav. This report confirms a previous one. As far as the launch event is concerned, the tipster didn’t reveal anything else. There is a possibility that Samsung will hold Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in the United States.
This may be the announcement date or the release date. As a result, the Galaxy S25 will launch a few days after its predecessor. Blue is said to be the most advertised color for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
