Despite leaving out many specifications, Realme announced its 14 Pro+ and 14 Pro smartphones today. In addition to revealing their designs, they confirmed they’d have a cold-sensitive colour-changing panel.
On the 14 Pro+ and 14 Pro, a triple camera will be mounted on the back, whereas a dual camera will be mounted on the front. As well as three flashes for night-time portraits, Realme calls it MagicGlow.
Unlike previous colour-changing solutions, this panel changes colours when exposed to colder temperatures, as it was designed in collaboration with Valeur Designers. As soon as the device is exposed to 16 degrees Celsius or below, the Pearl White colour will switch to vibrant blue.
In a statement, the Copenhagen-based design studio said it was “happy to collaborate with such a forward-thinking, youthful brand.” CMO Chase Xu said the 14 Pro Series brings “the aesthetics and functionality of Realme smartphones to new heights.”
Using a special fusion fibre requiring over 30 steps of craftsmanship, each Pearl White version will be unique. Realme 14 Pro+ will also feature a quad-curved display with a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio, but its size and resolution have not been confirmed. This rugged smartphone is IP68 and IP69-compliant and also TUV Rheinland-certified for being able to withstand accidental drops.
