For those seeking an affordable smartphone with essential features, HMD Global has quietly released the HMD Arc. The specs of the phone indicate an entry-level model that isn’t going to take up much space in your pocket. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.

The new HMD Arc sports 6.52 inches HD+ (900 x 1,600p) IPS LCD punch-hole 60Hz refresh rate display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The HMD Arc comes with UNISOC SC9863A SoC is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. According to UniSoc, this is its first 4G chip with AI acceleration, but the 28nm node doesn’t exactly promise high performance. The storage can be expanded through a microSD card.

The HMD Arc features a dual camera with a 13MP main sensor. It comes with a secondary VGA depth sensor with an LED flash. There is a 5MP selfie shooter.

 

The connectivity option includes a USB Type-C port, Wifi, Dual SIM with 4G LTE, VoLTE support, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, and GLONASS. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 10W charge support. In addition to Android 13, the phone comes with a 2-year security patch guarantee, but no mention of OS updates. Further, the device is also splash-proof thanks to IP52 certification. The device measures 8.55 mm thick and weighs 196g.
