2025 should be no different. Samsung has a tradition of launching its flagships in January each year. It has already been preempted that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 series in January, and now the exact date has been revealed.
On January 22, 2025, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 trio at its first Galaxy Unpacked launch of the year, according to tipster Alvin on X (formerly Twitter). According to the leak, the event will begin at precisely 10 AM PT (1 PM ET) in San Jose, California.
Further, the leak includes a list of all the announcements Samsung plans to make during the launch event. The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are all smartphones. Samsung’s recently announced Project Moohan Android XR headset might disappoint you, however.
It is confirmed that Samsung will launch its Extended Reality device in 2025, but the first Galaxy Unpacked event might not be where it will do so. The company probably does not want the launch of a new product category to overshadow its flagship phones.
The tipster shares, however, that Samsung will tease Project Moohan at the Galaxy S25 launch event. Since Project Moohan is only a codename, we might finally learn the headset’s marketing name. The company could also tease a launch date for the device to keep momentum going.
All new Bixby on Galaxy S25 Series:
When Samsung debuts the Galaxy S25 series in January, the LLM-backed Bixby will finally step outside of China. Samsung was originally expected to release the reworked assistant on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, but that did not happen due to scheduling issues.
Galaxy S25 series will feature a new Bixby powered by an LLM like ChatGPT or Google Gemini. Using the digital assistant in this way should make it easier for users to interact with it. Some other features are expected, such as retrieving information from different apps like Calendar or Samsung Internet, understanding on-screen contexts, connecting with apps for things like directions, and much more.
In addition to the Galaxy S25 launch, the stable One UI 7 release will include the next-generation Bixby. Once the One UI 7 update is available for older Samsung flagship devices, the updated Bixby will also be available.
