Himanshu Tandon, the head of POCO India, teased new product launches on X (formerly Twitter) in December. The teaser uses the cryptic taglines “Double the madness” and “#DoubleTheMystery,” fueling speculation around the launch of two budget-friendly 5G phones: the POCO M7 Pro 5G and POCO C75 5G. On December 17th, 2024, Tandon’s big reveal is scheduled.
It’s not clear from Tandon’s post what devices POCO will unveil, but the timing and the mysterious clues suggest that the company will unveil long-anticipated devices soon. POCO M7 Pro 5G and POCO C75 5G have both been leaked recently, making them prime candidates for the upcoming launch.
With the C75 5G, POCO’s C-series is expected to offer a budget-friendly 5G device, while the M7 Pro 5G might appeal to consumers seeking a slightly more premium device. POCO is targeting India, where the 5G rollout is expanding rapidly, with both smartphones that support 5G.
Further, we also got the teaser images revealing the first look of the POCO C75 5G and POCO M7 Pro 5G. From the images, the POCO M7 Pro 5G comes with a standard design with a rectangular camera module and glossy back. It features dual rear cameras with LED flash.
With a 6.67-inch GOLED display and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, the M7 Pro 5G supports FHD+ resolution.
The display boasts 2,100 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, and a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. In addition to TUV triple certification, POCO’s eye care display is SGS certified.
With a 92.02% screen-to-body ratio and an in-display fingerprint scanner, the AMOLED display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. On the bottom are the SIM card tray, USB Type C port, microphone, and speaker grille.
