The next-gen, most affordable iPhone is expected to be released by Apple in 2025. Its design will modernize an iPhone series that has for some time relied on an outdated look and feel. The iPhone SE 4’s camera system has been confirmed in a new report, which adds a few additional details.
The iPhone SE 4 will feature a single 48MP rear camera, according to reliable tipsters. ET News cites internal LG Innotek sources to support this claim. According to some sources, Apple will implement the same camera as the iPhone 16. Thus, the more affordable iPhone could have a 48MP camera with f/1.6 aperture and a 1.56-inch screen. The iPhone SE 4 may also receive the 2x lossless zoom feature that’s available on the iPhone 16.
There will, however, be no ultra-wide rear sensor on the iPhone SE, as it is on the vanilla iPhone 16. Also, the iPhone 16’s front-facing camera could be inherited by the device. According to the report, the iPhone SE 4 will feature a 12MP TrueDepth front camera and additional Face ID hardware. Face ID must be included in the device since the chunky top and bottom bezels will go bye-bye.
The device will likely have a very similar design to the iPhone XR. As opposed to the Dynamic Island that is present in the latest iPhone models, Apple will implement a notch. A smaller notch and a thinner frame around the screen could reduce the thickness of the phone a little. Compared to previous iPhone SE models, the iPhone SE 4 includes an OLED display.
With 8 GB of RAM, Apple could support Apple’s Intelligence features fully. The mute switch is likely to be replaced by the Action Button from the iPhone 16 series, according to some rumours. In addition, the iPhone SE 4 will debut Apple’s first 5G modem.
