Xiaomi recently held a launch event for the Xiaomi 15 series smartphones, Pad 7 series tablets, Smart Band 9 Pro, and Watch S4. The company has also quietly introduced the Redmi Band 3, the successor to the popular Redmi Band 2.
As with its predecessor, the Redmi Band 3 features a 1.47-inch display with a 320 x 172-pixel resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. Multiple colours of silicone straps surround the screen, including white, pink, yellow, black, and dark grey. It measures just 9.99mm thick and weighs 16.5 grams.
In addition to Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced connectivity, the new band is also water resistant to 5ATM, and it supports contactless payments via NFC. There is no GPS built into it, however, which might limit its usability for outdoor activities. There are 50 sports modes, as well as blood oxygen and heart rate monitoring throughout the day.
Xiaomi HyperOS runs on the smart band and offers more than 100 customizable watch faces. Xiaomi claims the watch can last up to 18 days on a single charge with its 300mAh battery. You can expect it to last around 9 days if you use it heavily.
Pricing:
Redmi Band 3 is currently available in China for 159 yuan (Rs.1900/-) in black and beige colors. The Redmi Band 3 may eventually make its way to other markets, based on the previous generation’s international availability.
