A reliable informant, Digital Chat Station, known for his accuracy, has recently disclosed the camera sensor details of the Vivo X200 Ultra.
He disclosed on Weibo that the Vivo X200 Ultra will incorporate Sony’s innovative LYT-818 sensor for both its main (35mm) and ultrawide cameras. Additionally, a tailored version of the Samsung HP9 sensor, dubbed HPX, is expected for its 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.
For comparison, the Vivo X200 Pro employs the LYT-818 sensor only in its primary camera, not the ultrawide. If the X200 Ultra follows suit with the ultrawide, it would mark a significant upgrade.
The ultrawide camera in the X200 Pro features a 1/2.76-inch sensor, whereas the LYT-818 sensor measures 1/1.28-inch, which represents a substantial improvement in sensor size.
The Vivo X200 Ultra might make its debut sometime in 2025, mirroring the mid-year launch of the Vivo X100 Ultra from earlier this year, though this is purely speculative. It will probably be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and it will obviously have a powerful camera setup.
