In China, Redmi is expected to reveal the K80 series of smartphones this month. The Redmi K80 and K80 Pro smartphones are expected to join the line-up. As of now, it is unclear whether the Redmi K80e will be the successor to last year’s K70e. New leaks, courtesy of tipster Experience More, shed light on the camera specifications of the K80 Pro.

The Redmi K80 Pro’s rear camera setup will retain the 50MP OmniVision Light Fusion 800 primary camera. There will be a 32MP Samsung S5KKD1 ultra-wide lens and a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto camera with 2.6x zoom. In terms of the front-facing camera, the device is likely to sport an upgraded 20MP OV20B.

This new leak suggests a significant upgrade for both the ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, enhancing versatility and image quality. Compared to the previous model, the upgraded front camera provides clearer and more detailed selfies.

The above image, shared by Wang Xiaoyan, Vice President of Xiaomi Group and President of Xiaomi China, appears to show an upcoming Redmi K80 series phone enclosed in a protective case. Three cameras are located on a new round camera island. This design differs significantly from the K70 lineup, which features square-shaped sensor arrays symmetrically arranged at the left corner of the camera module.

Redmi K80’s design is reminiscent of Xiaomi’s selfie-focused Civi series, which features a round camera module on the back. Xiaomi has just launched the Xiaomi 15 series of smartphones in China, so it appears Redmi will take a few more days before the K80 lineup is announced.
