As Samsung’s first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring is a solid debut for the Korean brand. Now, a tipster has revealed details about the Galaxy Ring 2.

Korean blogger yeux1122 posted some details about the Galaxy Ring 2 on Naver, suggesting Samsung might launch it “earlier” than expected. No date has been set for the launch, however. The original Galaxy Ring was teased in January and released in July.

According to the leaker, the Galaxy Ring 2 will also offer a thinner design, longer battery life, and more (unspecified) features. A major complaint we had with the Galaxy Ring was its endurance. We would love to see it improved.

According to yeux1122, Apple is also developing a “ring-type wearable” along with “band-type” and “smart glass-type” wearables. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported last month that Apple was not actively developing a smart ring and had no plans to release one.

Korean tipsters have generally been accurate, but have been more reliable when it comes to leaks related to Samsung. For now, we suggest taking these assertions with a grain of salt.
