Xiaomi is set to launch the POCO X7 Pro, a new mid-range smartphone, which reports suggest might be the first device to feature HyperOS 2.0 in India. While the Xiaomi 15 introduced this Android 15-based custom skin in China, the POCO X7 Pro is anticipated to be the initial launch of HyperOS 2.0 in the Indian market.
According to a SmartPrix report citing an insider, although the Xiaomi 15 has been recently launched in China with HyperOS 2.0, its arrival in India is not anticipated until March 2025. Consequently, the POCO X7 Pro, which typically follows a launch schedule similar to its predecessor, the POCO X6 Pro from January 2024, could potentially hit the Indian market before the Xiaomi 15.
Xiaomi has a history of releasing the same smartphone under different names with minor variations through its sub-brands. Given this trend, it’s plausible that the POCO X7 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro, while the POCO X7 Pro might be based on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+. With the confirmation of a December launch for the Redmi Note 14 series, we might see the POCO X7 and POCO X7 Pro hitting the Indian market shortly thereafter, perhaps around January.
