Recent reports indicate that Oppo has introduced the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in China, with plans for a global rollout later this month. Additionally, there’s buzz around the development of the Find X8 Ultra, anticipated for a January 2025 release. Details about this model’s display and camera specifications have started to emerge, thanks to insights from tipster Digital Chat Station via Weibo.

The tipster discusses an upcoming smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750) chip, suggesting it might be the Find X8 Ultra due to the mention of a Hasselblad camera system. The engineering prototype of this model reportedly includes a micro-quad-curved screen with a 6.82-inch BOE X2 LTPO OLED display at 2K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the OnePlus 13.

The camera setup, according to the tipster, stays consistent with a one-inch main camera and dual periscope telephoto lenses, with slight adjustments in focal length, plus the addition of a Hasselblad multi-spectral sensor.

Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an IP68/69 rating for durability. The X8 Ultra might compete with models like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Honor Magic 7 Ultimate, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and Vivo X200 Ultra. While the X8 and X8 Pro are set for a global launch, it’s unclear if the X8 Ultra will be available internationally. In China, alongside the Ultra, the company is also planning to unveil the Find X8 Mini in January 2025.
