ChatGPT’s much-anticipated search function has finally launched. ChatGPT Search searches the web for you. As it is integrated into ChatGPT, ChatGPT may choose to search for you for certain things you ask for. You can manually click/tap the Search option if you input anything into the text box.

A natural language interface is combined with the value of up-to-date scores of sports, news, and stock quotes in OpenAI. “News and data providers have partnered with the company to provide up-to-date information and new visual designs for categories like weather, stocks, sports, news, and maps”.

Links to news articles and blog posts are now included in ChatGPT chats, which should have been available since day one, but it’s better late than never. To see all the references, click the Sources button below the response.

Before this launch, OpenAI collaborated extensively with the news industry and carefully listened to feedback from its global publisher partners. ChatGPT Search also incorporates feedback from the SearchGPT prototype. According to the company, the new service will be improved in the future, particularly in the areas of shopping and travel.

ChatGPT Plus and Team users and those on the SearchGPT waitlist can now access ChatGPT Search at chatgpt.com and in the ChatGPT desktop and mobile apps. In the coming weeks, enterprise and educational users will have access, while free users will have access “over the next few months”.
