People in China believe that the number 4 is especially unlucky, so smartphone makers avoid it. OnePlus is no exception, and today the company has confirmed the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will be the next generation in its Ace line.
The company’s Li Jie also recently revealed on Weibo that he recently saw some performance test results for the series, and the results are amazing, even compared to those from OnePlus’ competitors.
This December, OnePlus will launch the next Ace series devices in China after several leaks and rumours. The lineup has two models: the standard Ace 5 and the Ace 5 Pro.
It has not been confirmed which phone will include the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, but the teaser image shows it. This SoC is likely to power the Ace 5 Pro.
The company is expected to reveal more features and announce an official launch date soon. A picture of the Ace 5’s retail box can already be seen on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform. On top of the box is the bold black “Ace” text in the classic OnePlus red design.
Digital Chat Station, a trusted source of information, shared a teaser image of the Ace 5 that has an official appearance. This image reveals that the device may come with a flat metal frame and the choice of a ceramic glass back.
Three cameras are visible on the rear of the device, while the distinctive OnePlus alert slider is positioned on the left-hand edge.
