HMD Global has unveiled the HMD Fusion in India, following a series of teasers. This new smartphone boasts a modular design, featuring a six-pin connector on its back that allows for the attachment of innovative cases, dubbed ‘Smart Outfits’ by HMD, which enhance the phone’s capabilities.
According to the company, each outfit seamlessly transforms the phone’s hardware and software, enabling new features, and distinct user interfaces, and boosting overall performance.
These include Casual Outfit, Flashy Outfit, and Gaming Outfit aligning with the numerous utility and aesthetic factors for the users. To further enhance the HMD Gaming Outfit experience, HMD has partnered with Digital Turbine and Aptoide in India. This collaboration brings the Aptoide game store to HMD Fusion, offering users access to the world’s leading mobile games.
Furthermore, Aptoide will feature a specialized “Play with your HMD Gaming outfit” area where users can find and download games tailored for their HMD controllers. Thanks to Digital Turbine’s SingleTap™ technology, HMD users will experience effortless game exploration and a smooth, one-touch installation process.

HMD Fusion will sport a 6.5″ IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Snapdragon powers the device 4 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM, and 128GB/256GB of storage. Surprisingly the phone comes with a storage expansion option via microSD card slot.
HMD Fusion comes with a 108MP main sensor coupled with a 2MP portrait lens. Within the punch-hole cutout is a 50MP camera for selfies. With its AI Capture Fusion, HMD maximizes the detail in photos taken with it.
The device ships with a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charge support. The HMD Fusion will also have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. It runs on Android 14 OS out of the box. Security updates will be provided for 3 years and 2 OS updates.
