The next wave of Samsung phones is expected to be entry-level and mid-range. After the launch of the Galaxy A16, we recently saw renders of the Galaxy A36 5G. Unofficially, the Galaxy A26 has appeared on Geekbench.

On the benchmark, the smartphone appeared with the model number SM-A266B. This listing confirms a 5G-enabled Galaxy A26, based on Samsung’s naming scheme. Under the hood lies the interesting part.

The Galaxy A26 appears to have an Exynos 1280 processor with the codename S5E8825. This isn’t surprising, but the speed is.

According to the Geekbench listing, the A26 might be getting a slight overclock to 2.6GHz on the Exynos 1280. Samsung may be pushing the chip a bit further, or more efficient fabrication processes may allow for higher speeds without overheating.

In addition to the processor, the listing reveals 6GB of RAM, which seems reasonable for a mid-range phone in 2024. Other than that, Samsung will likely equip the A26 with an Infinity-O display, like the Galaxy A36. Unlike its predecessors, the Galaxy A25’s notch is dated.
